Our new weekly drop-in meditation group, the Great Heart Circle, has been going for nearly four weeks now! It's an experimental group in the Zen Peacemakers tradition, exploring our individual and collective living presence. We use Zazen, Buddhist chanting, relaxation and guided mindfulness meditations, partner exercises from theatre training, and study material from the Zen Peacemakers lineage. At the moment we're reading chapters of Bernie Glassman's book "Bearing Witness". We also use some ideas and physical movements from the Islamic sufi tradition, drawing on the Peacemakers' connection with the Jerrahi lineage and Zang's links with the Whirling Dervishes. The meeting is sometimes Fridays, sometimes Thursdays, held once again in Howard's beautiful music room in Withington, South Manchester. Anyone is welcome! Full support will be offered to anyone who wants to establish a regular meditation practice and/or study more fully in the Zen Peacema...
